The Foghorn by Editor, Bernie Scott
This editor can guarantee that this April 6th
Foghorn is the shortest in the history of our Rotary Club.
Our 3 dimensional Rotarians filed in creating
a 4 dimensional sign, as they passed the money from their hand
to the hand of Jim Bell.
Our 1 dimensional blot on the screen, President,
Bruce Zahn, became 2 dimensional; as he gave some 1,2 and 3
dimensional Rotary briefs. Prez reminded everyone that the Honor
the Earth luncheon would be held at the LSF Building at noon.
Be at room 144. This takes the place of one of our 3 dimensional
meetings. Prez announced that Rev. Matevia and Maggi Spartz
were at the bottom of the list of the basketball pool. Dave
Lawson and Bob Rose were # 1 and #2 respectively.
GSE needs help on the April 20 and 22. Need to
meet in South Bend at 9:00 for a brunch and leave with the GSE
team. Suzy is working with Mario Rosa, who teaches English as
a second language to students. Suzy says we need volunteers
from after Rotary till 3 or 4:00, when the GSE will go the Lubeznik
Center. Suzy also announced that STRIVE will meet at 5:30 on
April 17, at the Scholl Center. Jim Bell announced that there
are 12 Rotarians going to the Four Freshmen concert at the Morris
in South Bend on April 29th. If you want to go-----see Jim.
“Sarge” Carolyn Saxton, filling in
for MIA Dr. Bruce Smith, hit every table, asking questions in
which everybody had to pay. Honorary Rotarian, Dr. Bob Raisor,
brought with him another of his charming daughters. Susan Benton,
who teaches at the Kalamazoo Public Schools, was known as the
neighborhood newspaper, before she was old enough to go to school.
Edgewood has never been the same since she grew up and moved
away. Susan is a counselor and also holds a pilot’s license.
She is very proud of her father, and for good reason.
Bryan Potratz, being of 3 dimensional mind, won
the Queen lottery, with #724, but could only find a 2 dimensional
8 of Spades.
Professor Floyd Merrill, from Purdue University
was guest speaker. His topic, “Signs R Us,” was
an intense lecture of space and time. This editor would need
another 4 pages to write and explain the theories of space and
time, so if you were at home, sitting on your 1 dimensional
rear end, or out on the golf course, trying to hit that 3 dimensional
golf ball into a 4 dimensional shot to the 1 dimensional black
hole in the ground-------well, you just had to be there.
Next week you will all be tested on the dimension
of “Tap Sirrah” and the art of moving money.
Until next week, may a 4 dimensional peace be
with all of you.
