Rotary License Plate

Did you know that the Michigan City Rotary Club Receives $15 for each Indiana Rotary Club License Plate ordered by our club members.

Not only are these plates raising dollars for our club to use in the communities, they are also moving billboards proudly showcasing Rotary's 100 years + of service and our motto of Service Above Self. The $25 application fee helps raise funds to ensure that every Rotary Club in Indiana can increase their charitable service to their communities or service projects. The Indiana Rotary License Plate program is unique in Indiana in that it is the only special group plate program set up with a rebate program to benefit all clubs in the state that have sales to their members.

Golden Bell Trophy Returned to Rotary Club

Saturday, December 22nd the Michigan City Rotary Club raised a whopping total of $15,481.48 toward The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Goal of $65,000!  As far as anyone can remember, this is an all time record for the Rotarians!

The Salvation Army’s overall Christmas Campaign Goal was $135,000 of which, thanks to the Michigan City Rotary Club, the Michigan City Lions Club and other service clubs, agencies and individuals, $127,000 was realized!

The Michigan City Lions Club, who rang bells on Saturday, December 15th, raised $10,842.74. The combined total raised by the two competing clubs was $26,324.22!  This is wonderful news for The Salvation Army!  It also means the Michigan City Lions Club must now grant custody of the coveted traveling Golden Bell trophy to the Rotary Club.

The spirited rivalry between the two clubs is highly commendable in that it not only raises much needed funds for The Salvation Army, but also creates a great deal of  community awareness and support for efforts to provide a brighter holiday for the hundreds of deserving families in need.
